DJS AGAINST HUNGER
Because people need to eat.
DJS AGAINST HUNGER AT A GLANCE
A Bit of Background
DJs Against Hunger is a philanthropic endeavor created to give pre-exisitng parties an opportunity to give back to the communities in which they party in. DJs have the power to command the attention of hundreds and at times THOUSANDS of people at one time through music. Imagine the impact you could have if you challenged those same people to give nonperishable goods to their local food pantry or food bank by way of a party or event already in attendance.
DJs Against Hunger was started in Brooklyn, New York and is the brainchild of professor, urbanist and arts and culture impresario Eric Blackwell. Inspired by philanthropist George Soros, specifically in 2009, where he gave away $35 million dollars of his own money to needy kids in New York for his birthday, Mr. Blackwell endeavored to make his birthday a day of service.

ANNUAL DJS AGAINST HUNGER PARTY: ORANGE WEEKEND
Fundraising: Party With A Purpose
Since 2009 DJs Against Hunger has hosted its annual party featuring some of the best DJs in soulful house music, r&b and hip-hop. Always held the week before Thanksgiving, we coordinate efforts with other DJs and party promoters throughout the country encouraging them to make their next party a drop off site for non-perishables. In a united effort to serve the communities we party in DJs Against Hunger endeavors to eradicate food insecurity one party at a time. We also partner with local food banks for virtual food drives to make your donation efforts simple and easy. Learn more about our work by getting in touch with our team today.

FOOD DONATION DROP-OFF & VIRTUAL FOOD DRIVES
Helping The Community
At DJs Against Hunger, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing food insecurity. That's why we coordinate our efforts with local DJs and connect them with food pantries in their city. Each party becomes a drop off site for nonperishable goods. We also partner with local food banks for virtual food drives to make your donation efforts simple and easy. We are always striving to make a difference. We invite you to learn more and lend your support. Together we can effect change by partying with a purpose.

According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), 15.8 million children under 18 in the United States live in households where they are unable to consistently access enough nutritious food necessary for a healthy life. Although food insecurity is harmful to any individual, it can be particularly devastating among children due to their increased vulnerability and the potential for long-term consequences.
